Nida is a designer, researcher, educator and writer with expertise in co-creation, participatory design and service design.
She works across a range of media to create integrated visual and communication systems of print, interaction, and installation design. She has designed sustainable systems for cultural and educational institutions such as the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), North Carolina State University. She has also collaborated with diverse partners such as Winterhouse, and Project M on projects nationally and internationally. Other clients include SOMArts Cultural Center in San Francisco, CA, the United Nations in the Netherlands, UNOY, The Duke Center for Science Education, The IEI Public Policy Institute, American Dance Festival, Shen Wei Dance Arts, BlueCross BlueShield and IBM. Her work has been published on Design Observer and SpeakUp, and has been repeatedly recognized by the Council for the Advance and Support of Education.
Nida’s research interests lie in issues of participation and communication in collaborative processes. She is also interested in exploring ad-hoc circumstance around making as a model for design research.
Nida is currently teaching at Georgia State University where she is also pursuing research collaborations. She received her Masters of Graphic Design from the College of Design at North Carolina State University.
